Bio

Solo Romaccubi — artist name of Marco Biscuolo (Venice, 1982) — lives and works between Rovigo and Ferrara. After years studying Italian Spatialism — Fontana, Burri, Manzoni, Castellani, Bonalumi — he developed a personal practice built on the physical manipulation of the painted surface.

My research starts from a simple question: where does the surface end, and where does space begin? I don't cut the canvas — I shape it. The lines that cross my works are strips of taut canvas: visible, controlled marks of a hand that bends the material without breaking it. Each piece looks for a balance between full and empty, between the colour field and the physical gesture.

In 2019 he held his first solo exhibition, L'atto che produce il segno, at Idearte Gallery, Ferrara, covered by La Nuova Ferrara and Estense.com. His works are held in private collections across Italy, with documented auction results up to 1,800 €.
